Our annual May Matters Walk is back for 2025!

Join us in the heart of Christchurch as we come together to raise awareness and show our support for those in our community affected by primary brain cancer.

About the Walk

Our fun family-friendly walk is approximately 4.5km long, beginning outside Pegasus Arms on Oxford Terrace and continuing along the banks of the Ōtākaro/Avon River. We wander past the Boatsheds, through the Bridge of Remembrance and along the Promenade towards Margaret Mahy Family Playground, and looping back towards the Terrace before finishing where we started. 

The route is suitable for all ages, abilities, and four-legged friends – so be sure to spread the word and bring everyone along.

Pegasus Arms opens at 11am so feel free to BYO reusable cup for a coffee or hot drink while you walk. 

Want to stick around afterwards?

We have a small area reserved at Pegasus Arms and would love to invite you and your whānau to join us and other supporters for a cold drink and a hot bowl of chippies after the walk. Pegasus Arms is child friendly and has a cosy interior with a roaring fire during winter. Delicious!
