Alisdair

Alisdair was a kind and enthusiastic man, who sent an application to the Trust, requesting a couple of sleeping bags for his kids so they could go camping together. We were so taken with Alisdair’s request that the Trust decided to also gift him and his wife a trip to Queenstown together.

Pat Ingram remembers the life and joyful character of her late son Alisdair.

———

I am writing this in support of the White Matter Brain Cancer Trust, a charity set up to help those affected by brain cancer.

Our son Alisdair Ingram was one of those people.

Alisdair was a delightful curly haired boy who grew into a lovely kind man with a wonderful sense of humour. He was diagnosed with a Glioma shortly after he was married. As a qualified chef, they were looking forward to their lives together.

He was a lad who questioned and challenged throughout his school days and this continued during the sixteen years of his illness. His sense of humour carried them through some dark times. Alisdair’s energy and enthusiasm would light up a room.

He, his wife and now two daughters, as well as his sister and nephews, constantly fundraised and also raised awareness of Brain Cancer. His sister continues to do so. The community they lived in were very supportive, as were their friends and neighbours.

He taught his girls to cook and as a talented artist also to draw.

So I am asking you, the readers, to please support the White Matter Brain Cancer Trust who helped my son and his family in a very practical and generous way. This will enable them to help others.

Thank you
Pat Ingram
